Brief Description

The project consisted of theoretical and practical seminars delivered in A.S.I.S.’ Residential Centre. The curriculum was designed with a purpose to enabling the social integration of the young beneficiaries and was referring to:

  1. job-club;
  2. food purchasing and cooking;
  3. personal hygiene, birth control and family counselling;
  4. citizenship;
  5. professional skills training courses organized by the Ministry of Labour.

The courses were delivered twice a week for 6 months. During the whole training period, two A.S.I.S. social workers supported the young beneficiaries in their project of social integration. The young participants’ progress during the project activities was permanently evaluated.
In the mean time, the evolution of each girl towards her social integration was carefully monitored, the social workers being also in charge with social inquiries and with finding together with the beneficiaries solutions for their employment and accommodation out of the placement centres.
Whereas important steps have been made forward towards the social integration of some of the beneficiaries, those girls ended their participation to this programme and were replaced by other youngsters from the same target group.
