Results

• The programme “VIP at the Age of 18” had 334 beneficiaries on the whole, of which 61 left the placement centres and were included in the residential programmes of ASIS.
• 54 youngsters of the 61 mentioned above graduated the programme. They became autonomous by domiciling out of the residential institutions (placement centres or ASIS residential structures) and earning their own livelihood and were monitored in the community.
• 611 workshops/ seminars took place during the programme, of which 571 attended by children and 40 by volunteers and by the staff working directly with children in the placement centres.
• 48 social workers in the placement centres were trained directly (38 participated tthe training session and 10 were trained according tthe new training strategy) timplement the independent life skills programme in the placement centres
• 38 social workers in the placement centres were trained tsuccessfully replicate the independent life skills programme
• The Local Councils in both Sectors involved in the project, through the DGASPC (local General Departments for Social Care and Child Protection), openly expressed their will tpurchase and operate several social apartments for the youngsters from residential institutions.
