Who Are We?

The Association “Support for Social Integration” (ASIS) is a Romanian non-governmental and non-profit organization established in 1994. The Association has resulted from the initiative of a group of Romanians dedicated to the alleviation of the condition of some underprivileged social groups through humanitarian activities.
The Association deals generally with the social integration of persons in need, irrespective of their age and sex, and of the young adults in particular, either they live in the street or they come from the state orphanages that they have left at the age of 18, in compliance with the Romanian laws in force.
ASIS extends its assistance to the youngsters’ families too, aiming to enable them to resume the relations with their relatives and, in the end, their family reintegration.

Our Mission

ASIS’ mission is to contribute to the progressive decrease of the number of underprivileged persons, through individually tailored social assistance and counselling, up to their complete and lasting reintegration into society, regardless of age and sex.

ASIS’ Objectives

  • Developing and consolidating independent life skills for the complete and lasting social integration of the underprivileged persons.
  • Joining ASIS’ efforts together with those of the community and state for raising the quality of the underprivileged persons’ life.
  • Permanently adjusting ASIS’ offer to the social realities and needs, in accordance with the quality standards.
  • The continuous professional development of ASIS team

ASIS’ Working Principles

  • We give priority to those youngsters who prove a clear and constant commitment to assume all the obligations and rights of an adult duly integrated into society.
  • Everything we do for the youngsters is achieved together with them.
  • We discourage the mentality of “assisted person” and other dysfunctional behaviours.
  • We offer the youngsters realities, and not illusions
  • We don’t give up in case of partial or temporary failure
  • We motivate/stimulate the youngsters to make themselves efforts for their complete and lasting social integration.
  • The most fragile family values more than the most efficient institution; therefore institutionalization is the very last solution.
